Di Giulio, L.Ac.
“It is through this lens of integration that true holistic healing is possible.”
It all started with a piece of chocolate cake.
My patient, who had been diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer just 2 years prior, was sitting in front of me, crying, because her cancer had returned.
She was guilt-ridden, explaining that if she just hadn’t had that piece of cake for her daughter’s birthday a month ago, her cancer wouldn’t have come back.
That moment felt like my first calling to specialize in cancer. I knew I had to better understand the complex nuances of this disease, and its effects on the mind, body, and spirit, to support my patients like her.
There are many pivotal moments in practice, but that conversation was my greatest clinical pivot, because I knew with no uncertainty that I could know more, and do more.
My somewhat stubborn Italian personality, paired with an endless yearning to keep on learning (thanks to being raised by educators), made me determined to deepen my clinical understanding of Western oncology practices and treatment, alongside Chinese medicine oncology. It is through this lens of integration that true holistic healing is possible.
I launched Insight Cancer Care in 2022 based on the invaluable holistic framework and powerful healing that Chinese medicine can offer to patients with cancer. From years of research on integrative and Chinese medicine oncology while writing my book, “Bridging the Gap,” to learning from some of the nation’s leading experts in integrative cancer care, to tending my own medicinal herb garden at home in Napa, my experiences working with many hundreds of cancer patients have shaped Insight Cancer Care–my offering to you.
So in the spirit of eating–and enjoying!--that slice of birthday cake, I hope most of all that my whole-person approach to cancer support helps you feel empowered–and makes the journey a little bit sweeter.

The Insight Cancer Care Family
Meet my furry son, Rufus
There are many ways cancer can affect a family–and the Insight Cancer Care family most recently confronted cancer when my beloved furry son Rufus received a cancer diagnosis in September 2021.
Did my husband and I panic like a dog whose dinner is 5 minutes late? You bet we did. Then, we took a beat, did some deep breathing, and reminded ourselves of all of the tools at our disposal–acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and even more love to support him through his surgeries.
Now back to his old tricks, our sweet brindle boy continues to benefit from regular acupuncture treatments, daily Animal Reiki sessions with me (a special part of my own self-care routine), and customized Chinese herbs to keep up his youthful, if hairy, appearance.
